Invent Help - Invent Stole My Idea

This company is not to be trusted, I gave my idea to Invent Help so they make me a basic information pack, they research my product for me through a paten lawyer in the USA we found out that for this product we could get a paten, but I didn't have the money at the time to get it done. So i told them to wait until i got the money to get the product paten, they offer to take my product to there expo shows where companies come to look for and buy new Inventions, but was told no by me not to do so, we even sign a no disclosure document for my product, but yet Invent Help manage to pass on my product to a company in the UK so I make no money from my Invention.

Now my product is a hit all over the world making millions of dollars for this company but here i am still with nothing to show from my hard work. This company is really bad for business don't get involve with them at all.

Invent Help Reply:
This consumer evidently contracted for the first stage of our services in which we prepare a Basic Information Package report on an invention and refer the consumer to an independent patent attorney for the preparation of a Preliminary Patentability Search & Opinion. It is also evident that the consumer did not proceed to the second stage of our services, our submission to industry services. If a client decides to not pursue the submission services, the Statement Of Confidentiality and Non-Use is still in effect which states in part “…the idea, invention, or product you are disclosing…shall not be used, sold. assigned or disclosed to any other person, organization or corporation without your permission.” We simply did not steal this consumer’s invention. Furthermore, we provided no submission to industry services.

I believe they did the same to me. I brought in a design to one of their Seattle offices for a tool I had designed and named.

The money they wanted to work with me was too high at the time. So I let it go.

About a year later I saw the EXACT same tool , ( I am a carpenter and knew what tools were on the market) hanging in Home Depot. I believe they, or one of their employees , ripped me off.

Stolen idea but didnt get it right by far!!

Hello i just want to let everyone know that invent help did not HELP ME..THEY STOLE MY IDEA. I sent in a blueprint of how my invention, Heel Saver, would look like.

They never got back with me on my idea. So I was just searching on Amazon one day and low and behold, there was the product called Heel Saver. What they developed looks horrible. It looked nothing like my blue print.

What should I do about this.

Should i be able to make another blue print and send it to myself for the post mark. And will I have to change the name of my invention??

Invent Help Reply:
We do not believe that this respondent is an InventHelp client. This post is completely false and ridiculous. We have been in business for over 34 years, helping inventors submit their ideas to industry. We do not steal inventions. In fact, any perspective client of InventHelp, would have signed a Confidentiality and Non-Use Agreement with us which states in part “…the idea, invention, or product you are disclosing…shall not be used, sold, assigned or disclosed to any other person, organization or corporation without your permission.”

Nearly 5 years ago, this respondent contracted with our company for assistance in submitting his invention to industry. Our records indicate that his services were completed in their entirety and in a timely manner. In fact, we provided additional services as a courtesy, at no charge. We reached out to the respondent in an attempt to resolve his concerns and reiterated that this is a very difficult industry with no guarantees of success or profit. We also reminded him that he acknowledged this several times, in writing, not only before but during and even after contracting with us. Nevertheless, we worked with the respondent and reached an amicable resolution to his concerns.

I have a new idea and my experience with Inventhelp was disappointing and I'm trying to get the money I paid to inventhelp with no success Ahmed 850960****

Invent Help Reply:
We are responding to this post. The respondent contracted with InventHelp for the first stage of our services, the preparation of a Basic Information Package (BIP) report on her invention. The BIP assembles basic information about an invention, idea, concept or new product and the history of its development in a report format. In addition, a Preliminary Patentability Search and Opinion (PPSO) was conducted for the idea by a patent law firm to which InventHelp refers its clients’ patent work. The total cost of these services was $925. The respondent however, did not pay for the services he received and still owes $470.

Nevertheless, we reached out to the respondent in an effort to address his concerns. While we do not agree with the respondent’s comments, simply in good faith, we worked together and arrived at a mutually agreed upon resolution.

Invent Help - THEY TOOK MY MONEY AND RAN WITH IT!!!!!!! - Image 2

WHEN WE FIRST MEET THEY SAID THE IDEA WAS GREAT AND UNIQUE VERY DIFFERENT AND ONE OF A KIND. THEN CAME THE PAID 4,500 UP FRONT; THEY ASSURED ME NO ONE'S INVENTION WAS LIKE THE ONE I GAVE THEM, THEY TOOK MY 4,500 DOLLARS, AFTER MONTHS OF NOTHING, THEN THEY SAID IT WAS TAKING LONGER CAUSE THEY HAD SIMILAR ONE TO MINE.

WHEN THEY WERE TAKING MY MONEY THEIR WERE NONE ALIKE TO MINE! THEN I WAS MAKING PAYMENTS EVERY MONTH, UNTIL I STOPPED I HAD PAID ANOTHER 3,000 OR 4,000. AND STILL NOTHING!

THEY SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR TAKING PEOPLE'S MONEY AND HAVING NO RESULTS... SOMEONE SHOULD PUT THEN IN JAIL!!!!

Invent Help Reply:
This respondent contracted with our company over 1 ½ years ago for assistance in submitting his invention to industry in the hope of obtaining a good faith review. His services were being performed and nearly completed in accordance with his contract until such time that he stopped paying for the services.

The respondent’s description of his initial meeting with us is inaccurate and misleading. We make it clear that we do not evaluate or appraise the merit or marketability of inventions in any way and that there are no guarantees of success. He acknowledged this, in writing, before, during and even after contracting with our company. In fact, in a discussion with us he stated he “…knows that there are no guarantees. The sales representative made it very clear that it is up to a company…”

We do not understand his remark with regard to a similar product and we made no such statement to the respondent. In fact, throughout the term of the services, we have no record that the complainant expressed any of the concerns stated in this review. To now at this late date to make these unsubstantiated and false claims against our company is unfair.

We upheld our contractual obligations and the respondent should do the same and pay for the services he received. In fact, he still owes several thousand dollars, most of which is past due.

Invent Help - Invention Service Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

So recently inventhelp admitted that my Patent was no good because there was already a pre existing patent filed. However, they could not refund me my full 7,048 dollars they gotten from me on the false pretense of investing into a good patent.

But they will, however, give me the 1,400 I paid for the patent and the 400 dollars filing fee, which by their standards, is a pretty good deal in which I should jump on. So this is their analogy.... If they steal a man's house from him and they offer to give him his cloths out of his closet, then he should be thankful. Within their contract they promise to refund you your full patent research money if they find an identical patent.

And of course you wouldn't see a need to invest an additional 12,000 into a non profitable patent. So to get around that they just tell you that your patent is good and if they find anything identical then they are only responsible for the patent research and filing fee and not the thousands of dollars taken to market it. It's a scam... A well thought out scam.Put a known Celebrity on the face of your business and you can scam the world.

Don't do it people. Nasty attitudes and entitlements are what your up against.

Invent Help Reply:
This respondent initially contracted with InventHelp for the preparation of a Basic Information Package (BIP). The BIP assembles basic information about an invention using standardized marketing information as well as information which the inventor provided to us. We also refer our clients to a patent attorney for the preparation of a Preliminary Patentability Search & Opinion.

The respondent then proceeded to contract with our company for assistance in submitting his invention to industry in an attempt to obtain a good faith review. InventHelp also referred his invention to a patent attorney in an effort to obtain a patent. Our records indicate that his InventHelp services were completed in their entirety and in accordance with his contract. The respondent, on the other hand, did not uphold his end, stopped paying for the services, and still owes nearly $7000.

The respondent’s claim that our contracts promise a refund if an identical patent is found is untrue.

The respondent is upset that his patent was denied. While this is unfortunate, the respondent acknowledged in writing, not only during, but also after contracting with our company that there is never a guarantee that the US Patent & Trademark Office will issue a patent and that a patent can be denied at anytime. We reached out to the respondent in a good faith attempt to resolve this matter and offered a fair resolution to his concerns.

Invent Help - JUST SAY NO!

Don't do it! Warning, Warning, Warning, they will take you to the cleaners!

We are 13k poorer. With NO invention in sight. The submission list is LIES! They won't give you the contact information to the companies, or the contact person for each company.

Your suppose to just TRUST that they are doing this when I in fact found that they are not, and had the proof, and still they are taking me to the cleaners! JUST SAY NO!

Run away as fast as you can, don't give these crooks a penny! Cant sleep at night, sick to my stomach, want to cry!

Invent Help Reply:
We would be more than happy to help this respondent, but he needs to identify himself to us. The companies to which we submit our clients’ invention information have signed Confidentiality Agreements agreeing to review our clients’ inventions in confidence. We update our inventor clients on any responses we receive as a result of these submissions. While InventHelp provides a useful service to inventors, it is unfortunate that it’s so difficult to obtain the outcome that inventors desire. This respondent’s depiction of our services is inaccurate and misleading. Our company has positive reviews on many forums, an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, etc. We wish the respondent would contact us directly to discuss his concerns.

I agree with JUST SAY NO!! PLEASE do your research on this company.

They are very dishonest. I have been dealing with their fraud since early 2017. Read the contract with great attention. If you already signed up, notice that the "said" steps they take in their process to get your invention out to the public are not followed, and therefore a breach of contract.

Unfortunately, you won't get any response to that or any concern regarding your concerns. If you were a part of the class action settlement, you'll see that they are not following the terms of the settlement. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH. If you are a client, please look up the "said" companies that they said may, are or are not interested in your invention.

Those companies will have nothing to do with your invention. And many times, questionable companies.

The positive comments, I truly believe, are NOT from actual customers. PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

This inventor should review our website to discover what InventHelp actually does for the everyday inventor. We have an A+ rating with the BBB and we are an Accredited Company on ConsumerAffairs.com. Hi this is a terrible company The only way they can stay alive by taking your money hoping you will not have the money to continue in the idea belongs to them, I went there with the idea of the removable heel for woman's shoes which is in storage right now, I paid $1000 in one week they called me they need 5000 more to move ahead,I already knew it was a scam, this was in 2007. Don't do business with them. I'm not even looking into a lawsuit because it just probably will cost a *** load of money "

The saddest part about life is when you really need your family and so-called friends no one will ever be there for you been crying all day

Invent Help stole my idea and I want the world to know: Twin Back To Back Home Theater

ISSUE NOT RESOLVED

In 1991 I thought of inventing a back-to-back TV that you can view from both sides but watch different channels at the same time the TV will also come out to two separate TVs that's side by side in 2001 I went through invent help in San Francisco California to help me patent MY idea I gave them I believe $2,000 I was outraged to only get a book in the past couple of years I've been trying to get people to help me on how to file a patent without giving them any information or details of what the idea was now on August 21 2016 I'm looking on Facebook and the makers of LG intra home system is now selling my TV for for $10,000 I called InventHelp to see if I can get a copy of the book I bought from them and they told me they have record of it but can't send me any information because all information was deleted out the system and all they have is my name and that I did pay for a research that's what they're calling it I asked them with crying tears if they could just send me the information they do have and I was told no and why did I need My information this is so crazy right now I feel like I'm in a dream that I'm never going to wake up out of I'm poor and I'm black and don't nobody give a *** but me I just want to crawl under a rock and die like this is my TV my idea that I came up with and I trusted InventHelp and this is what they did to me so my idea I can't even think like my heart is breaking into right now thanks for listening

We believe this consumer to be an InventHelp research client from 2003. Her concerns stem from her discovery in 2016 of a product similar to her invention. Similar concepts are a common occurrence in this industry. While we would like to be able to provide the consumer with her research material, unfortunately, due to the 13 years that has elapsed, we are unable to provide her with that information.

Yo bro my name is sean. Trust me plenty of people have done that to others.

Including invent help. A brilliant mind like yours should not go to waste. If you thought of that, then i know you can think of something 10x better. Use that as motivation to get you somewhere you never thought possible.

You can be successful you just gotta keep pushing homie. Dont ever think about giving up bro. More people in the world care about you than you think bro.

Because i care. All those people who dont give a *** now, tell them not to come around when your bank account starts looking like a phone number.

Guest

Just look at this as a lesson learned and create something else. Trust me, if you came up with that, you can come up with more! Don't give up!

Guest

Its unfair that you were victimized by this company! I am sorry to hear about the hearty you endured.

I know this makes you feel terribly violated.

Think of the strength you displayed during past crises as a indication of your resiliency, this too will pass. Continue to pursue inventions you have a great mind don't let this mishap discourage you or take it away.

Inventhelp com will take your money but will not tell you ALL the NEGATIVE truth!

STOP! Don't invest a single dollar into your invention -- help company you're thinking about using to solicit your so-called great idea until you read this:

Invention Home company as well as all of the other invention - help companies will take your money and you will get nothing for it in return! This is a 97% accurate statement!

Only 3% of inventions/ideas solicited by these invention - home companies are accepted by manufacturers/private companies. Invention Home told me this. I believed at least one of the two inventions I paid them $6000 to make a product presentation of my inventions and solicit it to potential manufacturers/private companies would have fit within that 3%. WRONG! I foolishly believed my two inventions/ideas would be accepted and produced by a manufacturer or private company. I honestly believed my two products would have sold well in the stores if produced and presented. I believed this because the products I invented were extremely useful and appreciated because I enjoy using it at home as well as my friends, family and neighbors. They all said they agreed with me how useful and beneficial like two products were and they still have and use the prototypes I made and gave each of them. Does this sound familiar to you regarding your inventions/idea?

This website indirectly solicits possible customers to lawyers to consider taking on the case for the people who place posts at this website regarding dissatisfaction with a product or service of a company. I think it's a great idea and I hope this website continues it. But, no lawyer can help me nor any of you other inventors out there regarding this problem. These invention - help companies spend thousands of dollars making sure they worded the contract properly which you sign in agreement before you pay them thousands of dollars to create a product description package of your idea/invention and solicit it to so-called hundreds and hundreds of potentially interested manufacturers or private companies.

At the end of the year of my two inventions being solicited by Invention Home they told me they had solicited my two inventions to over 400 and 600 various manufacturers/companies related to the idea/invention. How did they come up with that number?! I looked on the Internet for all manufacturers and companies related to my two inventions and only found a handful, worldwide. And when I ask them about those 400 and 600 related manufacturers/companies they would not tell me who they were, as agreed to par the contract/agreement I signed prior to paying them $6000 for soliciting my two inventions.

All of these invention -- help companies lead you to believe YOUR INVENTION may indeed be one of the 3% accepted products by a manufacturer or private company by simply telling you that they see some unusual unique ideas/inventions excepted which most people would not think Manufacturers would accept. But, what they don't tell you is the true facts: The only products excepted by manufacturers are those related to the medical industry or some handy dandy tool for home use like the ones you see on info commercials late at night on TV. You never get to see how successful or unsuccessful those handy dandy tool sales are through those late-night info commercials.

Invention Home lead me to believe my products just might make it and be accepted by a manufacturer or private company by NOT TRYING to make me realize how slim the chance I or any of us have in getting a manufacturer or private company to purchase our idea/invention.

Invention Home receives approximately 2 or three new customers a week continuously, as I was told by them. Which means, obviously, they are taking approximately $6000 a week, $312,000 minimum a year and ONLY 3% of those customers will have their ideas/inventions accepted and used by companies, as I was also told by Invention Home. In other words, 97% of those customers have just lost all of their money, hopes and dreams of having their product become successful and available to others at stores.

PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE, which cost me $6000 to learn about, DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY to any of these intervention -- help companies because your product WILL NOT BE EXCEPTED! Unless it is a medical tool or device or something like a 12-in-one screwdriver for home project use!

The most practical, simple, direct and immediate way to begin sales of your product is to manufacture it yourself using your money, your hands and your home to build these products. A perfect example I can share with you is what I did with one of my inventions about 15 years ago. I came up with an idea/design to quickly and easily remove scratches on fast food restaurant bathroom mirrors. The concept was simple. To remove scratches from the mirrors which the neighborhood Hispanic gang members love to scratch by signing their name or gang sign on I simply designed a mirror system with a replaceable shield covering/protecting the mirror. So, now the scratches on the mirror could be removed in three minutes time and at a cost of about three dollars. The fast food restaurants really love the idea/design because it meant they don't have to close down the bathroom for a half hour while the mirror companies replace the scratched mirror. Within a 50 mile radius of my home I sold and installed over 150 of these mirror protection systems and brought in over $18,000 in the first four months of business! I also did not spend any money or time in a patent search or patent protection for my product.I believed it was a completely new concept and the big companies would not come after me if they did happen to have something similar to it. I wasn't rich and I was just a private individual trying to make some money on an idea I came up with and could find no one else with anything similar to my idea/invention. And companies/corporations are not going to waste their time and money on one individual selling a few items related to their product. They will simply tell you to stop making it immediately or they will take legal actions against you. That's all that will happen. I did pay my state taxes on profit made from that mirror protection system.

If anyone has any questions for me regarding anything here please feel free to respond to my post and I will reply ASAP.

DON'T BE A FOOL WITH YOUR MONEY, PRIDE AND HOPE as had happened to me after I foolishly gave Invention Home $6000 of my hard earned money and then realized what a scam these invention -- help companies TRULY ARE! Do it yourself or not at all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What you said makes a lot of sense. I tried getting a company like Inventhelp to help me before.

I unfortunately am the guy who created the life-like punching bag that so many people are buying and it's sold in Sports Authority right now. I spent many years ago about $3000 for nothing only to find out that there was a class action law suit against the company and if i didnt sign on to the class action I'd get nothing.

I signed on and got 2 payments of $90.00. I think that I'm going to do this on my own.

Thanks

Hi,

Just read your review. You mentioned if your idea was in the medical field you have a better chance.

Would you still use invent help if your idea was for the medical field?

Guest

I am super glad I took the few minutes to look up reviews before I submitted my idea. I was a little sceptical before but now after reading this, I am certain.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story. It has helped at least one person from making a mistake. Thank you again.

P.

S.

That mirror thing is a great idea.

Guest

How would I go about it myself?

Guest

Interesting. We went to Invent Help today and listened to a very professional sales pitch.

First the book $746 then ONLY $10,000 for the next step...... We are still wondering if this is a scam and do they really do all they say. We have a product patent pending but just do not know how to market it.

I do not believe we will go with them. Like you my husband has made prototypes and given them to friends and neighbors who love them - but then what?

Guest

Invent-Help...or Like Invent-Tech,..Remember,

I Put in $ 5000 Dollars,..for you to take over my Idea,...

I received Nothing,......I want my Money Returned.
